The SERVPRO Wild Pony Riding event has become a fan favorite at the Gem State Classic Pro Rodeo. Due to its immense popularity, it now takes place on all three nights of the rodeo. This thrilling competition showcases the teamwork, skill, and bravery of young participants as they attempt to tame unbridled ponies.
Rules and Regulations:
• Teams consist of 3 members, ages 13 to 18
• Each member must wear a safety vest; gloves are highly recommended
• Pony starts in the chute with a halter and long lead rope
• One team member holds the lead rope, another helps hold or mug the pony, and the third rides
• Rider must stay on the pony for 3 jumps for an official ride
• Winning team is the fastest to complete 3 jumps
• Time starts when the pony leaves the bucking chute
• 60-second time limit
Competition Format:
Qualifying rounds will be held on Monday and Tuesday nights of the Gem State Classic Pro Rodeo. The winners from each night will advance to compete for the championship on Wednesday night.
How to Enter:
To be eligible, enter your team here before August 28th. Download this form and bring it to the rodeo. All team members are required to have it completed and turned in prior to competing.
